Hill View Guiding Principles

Statement of Purpose
Historically serving people with special needs of aging, Hill View fulfills its mission by providing choices within a comprehensive array of human services including: nursing care, residential care, independent living, and community outreach. Hill View promotes a holistic approach to health, and the creative participation of each individual.
Hill View accomplishes its mission through a dynamic partnership of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, staff, residents, family members, volunteers, and encourages education and research in the field of gerontology; cooperation with community organizations with like purpose; provides assistance, as resources permit, for persons who are unable to pay for the cost of services; and is committed to serving persons without regard to their race, religion, sex, or national origin.
Hill View assesses the validity of its mission statement within a regularly functioning committee structure including: healthcare, finance, and personnel committees; resident council, and town meetings; staff evaluations, as well as monthly meetings of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees with resident representation.
Mission Statement
Hill View’s mission, within a framework of Christian values, is to enable each individual it serves to realize his or her highest level of physical, psychological, and social fulfillment in an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and care.
Vision Statement
Provide an environment where the spiritual, psychological, and biological well being of the person is enhanced through supportive relationships and community.
Health & Wellness Philosophy
Hill View strives to give its residents the highest level of physical, mental and psychological well being. We work to maintain this level of functioning, dignity and comfort in Independent Living, Assisted Living and the Nursing Home. Hill View acknowledges and honors all residents’ ethical decisions, including Advanced Medical Directives and life sustaining treatments. Hill View encourages the development of a home like environment to promote an optimal level of functioning and independence.
Recognizing the need for family and involvement while maintaining confidentiality, Hill View encourages family participation. Efforts are made to help a resident maintain their independent living as long as their health and safety permits. Special therapies, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Home Care, play an important role in maintaining and regaining resident’ optimal functional ability and are available. Preventative care and education programs are offered to both the staff and residents. A “resident concerns team” meets routinely to evaluate all residents’ current health status. If a resident has changing physical and emotional needs, this team, along with the resident and physician, selects the proper level of care.
