Making the Transition

Most people experience mixed emotions whenever they move to a new home.  Sadness over a place left behind can often dampened the excitement about your new beginning.

Be sure to give yourself some time to wholeheartedly enjoy your home before moving, then say farewell.  After reflecting on your good memories of your previous home, remind yourself of everything you stand to gain from the move including less chores, improved access to care, new friends and community.

Make yourself at home.  Decorate your new home with familiar favorites.  Don’t delay getting involved with some community activities.  Don’t stay cooped up in your home; venture out and familiarize yourself with the grounds and facilities.
